ELLA | Femininity in all its layers.

With ELLA, we want to present a powerful triptych around one theme: her. Femininity in all its layers—vulnerable, powerful, mysterious, loud and quiet at the same time. Three different composers form the musical backbone of this work, interpreted by two choreographers, each with their own movement language. Together they tell one story, one experience—packaged in three unique parts that complement and challenge each other.

The performance consists of the following three pieces: “Venae,” choreography by Glen Lambrecht, to the compelling music of Ezio Bosso “Pulcinella,” to music by Igor Stravinsky “Appalachian Spring,” choreography by Tono Ferriol, set to Aaron Copland's iconic composition. The choreographies are created by Glen Lambrecht, soloist and choreographer with the Czech National Ballet and artistic director of GLP, and by Tono Ferriol, an emerging choreographic talent with his own fresh signature style.

The performance is danced by a strong, international cast of semi-professional and professional dancers, who bring the story of ELLA to life with power and nuance.

The working title “Ella,” Spanish for “she,” emphasizes the universal nature of the subject, but leaves room for interpretation, imagination, and emotion.
